The popular Canadian actor, William Shatner, who is best known for his role as James T Kirk, the captain of USS Enterprise in Star Trek, has just declared his support for Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin On Twitter to his over 2.5 million followers on Twitter. After giving his thumbs up to Vitalik Buterin On Twitter, one Ethereum critic who denounced Vitalik Buterin calling him a literal scammer because he failed to make Ethereum completely decentralized, was provoked. The user with the handle “premine apologist,” was not happy with the fact that Shatner was taking sides with Buterin. In response Shatner said:
“You’re a coded, go and develop your own blockchain platform and make sure it is 1000% decentralized. If not, shove money inside your mattress. I heard that is only overseen by bed bugs”.

In continuation, and to show that he too had good knowledge of blockchain technology, Shatner said:
“His viewpoint does not take into account the fact that the code must be audited and approved by consortium before it gets accepted. He thinks everything exists in a bubble. That’s why we have ERC-1701, ERC-20, and ERC-721”.
Shatner’s firm support of Vitalik Buterin and the Ethereum blockchain got him thumbs up from the cryptocurrency community. One of the Ethereum community members commended Shatner for “listing ERC standards to school the troll”.
Main while, the showdown that occurred between Buterin’s critic and Kirk was basses for comedy for tribal Trekkies. They started talking about blockchain technology and sci-fi. One of the Trekkies said: “how can we trust a Ferengi?”. Another user said that Shatner was supporting Buterin because of his resemblance to his character on Star Trek.
Shatner And The Cryptocurrency Industry
This isn’t the first time Shatner is getting involved in the cryptocurrency industry. A while ago, he became a spokesperson for a solar-powered mining facility that was purchased by Solar Alliance Energy in July. This is part of the green energy initiative that was activated in Illinois. Shatner has once again proven that he is a fan of cryptocurrencies and the underlying blockchain technology.
